This is a rustic collection of "cottages" with gorgeous views. Over 450 feet of lake frontage on spacious lot. The cottages are full of character. The fire pit overlooking beautiful Skaneateles Lake is a wonderful setting to make memories. Firewood is provided. Main cabin has two bedrooms. One queen bed and one full size bed. Fully equipped kitchen is stocked with basics including coffee maker, microwave, pots and pans, plates, silverware, and more. Living room is comfortable with couch and chairs as well as a large dining table. Water dispenser available with hot and cold water. One bathroom in main cabin with tub/shower. The cabin is heated but the fireplace is not functional. No air conditioning, but fans in all rooms. There is outdoor seating on the attached deck. Outdoor grill for your use. The larger bunkhouse has one upstairs bedroom with a double bed. On the first level there is a futon, as well as a twin bed. Plenty of space for cots (and cots are provided) for extra guests. A small kitchen is functional. One newly redone bathroom includes a shower. The smaller bunkhouse (very small!) has a set of bunk beds. A twin size mattress on top and a double on the bottom. A tiny bathroom with just a toilet and sink are in this cozy but comfortable space. Sheets, pillows, blankets, and towels provided (beach towels too!). Down the gorgeous path and rock steps, a beautiful dock is waiting for you...as are the spectacular sunsets. Two high-end kayaks are available for your use, as is a large paddle board. Located on the eastern shore of Skaneateles Lake, the “jewel of the Finger Lakes”, Pinewood, is the perfect getaway. Pinewood is a rustic 3 bedroom cottage, secluded in the woods, on the lake. You can enjoy sunny days on the dock and in the water. In the evening the sunsets are breathtaking from your porch, the firepit or the dock. You are just 8 miles by boat or car from the Village of Skaneateles where you can find restaurants, gift shops, and a grocery store. From your front door it is just a few steps to the firepit. Chairs surround the firepit and we provide all the wood you need to enjoy your evenings around the fire. Just past the firepit are the stairs, (40 steps down) leading to the water and the private dock. There you find chairs for sitting and enjoying the lake. Located on a little-developed stretch of the eastern shore, you approach from deep woods of oak and sycamore, revealing the lake as you near the house. The beautiful modern design is finished in redwood, both on the exterior and much of the interior. The house has two wings separated by outdoor decks. One wing is one story with living area, dining area, kitchen, bath and two bedrooms (traditionally the "kids' side"). The pristine waters of Skaneateles Lake are just 100 yards down the driveway, with great swimming, fishing and boating. Our beach has unobstructed and dramatic views of the lake, and from our location on the east side of the lake, we enjoy spectacular sunsets, often around a bonfire. Our 45-acre property abuts a 200-acre nature preserve with great hiking trails. Cottage has 1 bedroom with double bed. Sleeping loft has three twin beds. We're a nice canoe ride from "Staghorn Point", where kids can find a Skaneateles treasure: staghorns -- actually, horn coral from when the area was under the ocean. Should you want to leave the lake, there are wineries, museums and other attractions in the area. Our family summered in the Waterfall Cottage while our children were growing up, and we have wonderful memories. After we built a year-round house on the beach, we started renting out the Waterfall cottage. Most of our guests have stayed with us every summer for several years.

The house has a great room with cathedral ceiling, and a downstairs family room, all with beautiful views of the lake. (The family room is particularly popular with teenagers as it has its own TV and bar fridge). New sliding glass door from great room opens to a large elevated deck with an unobstructed view of the lake. 4 large new windows on either side of door complete the full view of the lake. There is a side brick patio with a firepit and a lake view. And just off the kitchen is a low profile deck with a gas grill, picnic table and view of the lake. 2018 improvements included full air conditioning, a new gas furnace and water heater, kitchen renovations, a new swim raft for increased enjoyment of the waterfront, a brand new lakeside dock and retaining wall and new stairs up to the house. 2019 brought new deck slider and windows facing the lake and 20 extra feet of dock perpendicular to permanent dock for tying up renters' boat. If you prefer to leave your boat away from the dock, there is also a floating mooring with kayaks to get out to it. In September we built new stairs and railings from the cottage to the dock area. We also share a paddle boat with our neighbors. The property has 4 side by side (3 if vehicles are large) paved parking spaces. There is no parking on the one lane fire road. From the decks and the house we enjoy watching songbirds and waterfowl year round. Depending on the season, we see mallards, mergansers, canvas backs, buffleheads, redheads, ring necks, scaups, golden eyes, loons, Canada and snow geese as well as swans. We also see bald eagles and osprey fishing in the lake, sometimes flying by right at eye level with our great room and deck. We are only 3 miles south of Skaneateles. At the marina one can rent kayaks and canoes. Anyela's Winery is only a mile south. It's a great place to relax, enjoy their wines, beers and snacks while listening to live music. We are 8 miles from Carpenters Falls, a local favorite for short, beautiful hikes. There are also longer hiking, biking and cross country skiing areas at Bear Swamp and hiking at Fillmore Glen State Park.
